The website of 9to5mac.com has released some very interesting news regarding the latest version of two of the best-selling Apple product – the iPhone and the iPod Touch. According to an informed sources Apple is busy testing a prototype version of their new A5X chip which powers the New iPad models. The new version of the A5X chip is going to probably power both the latest versions of the iPhone, which is rummored to be iPhone 5, and the iPod Touch.
So far there was very little known about the next iPhone which is quite normal, considering the fact that the people at Apple like to shroud their products in mystery. The only thing that was known about the next iPhone that its design will be completely different for the desing of the two previous iPhones( iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S). The A5X chip which powers the New iPad is most likely going to power the new iPhone, too. The chip has1GB of RAM and it labelled with the codename N96.
The same chip A5X is probably going to feature in the next version of iPod Touch as well. The iPod was neglected by Apple in the past year and did not receive internal nor cosmetic changes. But it looks like Apple still hasn’t given up on their product, because it is still one of the most popular handheld devices used by gamers.
There is still no information when the new versions of the Apple devices are going to be released, but the indication is that the planned launch of the iPhone and the iPod Touch is going to be just in time for the 2012 holiday season.
