Google Chrome is the most popular browser since the last week, according to the StatCounter research. Earlier, the Google browser overtook Internet Explorer for two days. The six days of reign for Google Chrome is felt worldwide, though the data from the different regions vary. For example, the top browser in Europe is currently Mozilla Firefox while Chrome is just 1% ahead of Microsoft’s Internet Explorer.
Mozilla Firefox is most popular in Africa, too. The Japanese still prefer IE – more than 50% of the users are loyal to the default Windows browser. 75% of the Chinese and the South Korean traffic is done through IE.
Chrome is on top in India as well as in South America, where half of the users are preferring it. Perhaps the latter is a consequence of Orkut’s popularity.
