A few words about Nokia’s first Windows Phone, the Lumia 710. Nokia is targeting new smartphone owners with this inexpensive phone. The Lumia 710 certainly doesn’t feel like a luxury phone, but it doesn’t feel cheap either. Nokia does refer to it as a “no nonsense” phone.
Nokia Lumia 710 is codenamed Sabre. Its release is part of a change in company’s direction which has resulted in a move around from the Symbian platform towards Windows Phone for premium devices (running the Mango version of the Windows Phone OS). The Lumia 710 features a 3.7 inch LCD screen and 8 GB of storage. It has been released in some European and Asian countries, but is not expected to reach the US market until early 2012. On 14 December 2011, T-Mobile and Nokia officially announced their plan to sell the Lumia 710 for $49.99 from 11 January 2012.
