The idea behind the creating of the mobile phones was to make the wires used in the standard phones useless. However, with the improving of the modern devices, with the adding of new capabilities and applications to them, with the fast developing of the hardware chips, the batteries are becoming less useful and durable. This problem is now obvious but according to specialists it will become specially sharp when the usage of technologies like LTE become mass. In such case, the devices’ batteries will last no more than 6 hours.
The biggest manufacturers of batteries at the moment Ampirus and Nanosys said that the current technology, which was developed 40 years ago can be improved but this will deliver maximum 30% more energy. So, what we need now is fundamentally new technology which unfortunately still does not exist.
