Apple doesn’t rest on its laurels and continues to release new products. According to numerous reports and rumours from all over the world it seems that Apply might be planning to release new models of iPad called iPad Mini. Although for now there isn’t any official confirmation from Apple, the company didn’t deny the rumours either, and instead choose not to comment on the matter.
The first rumours that Apple is planning to release a new model of its highly successful tablet – the iPad, were reported by a chinese internet portal which itself quoted Taiwanese news outlets. According to the report Apple ordered 6 million units of smaller version of their iPad to be created in the Foxconn factories operating in Taiwan.
Another rumour that might serve as a confirmation that Apple plans to release iPad mini comes for a source working at Samsung. According to this source Apple commissioned to the Korean company to provide them with new smaller inch LCD screens for iPad. The rumoured size of the new iPad screen is 7.7 inches while the size of the original iPad is 9.7 inches.
If the rumours that Apple is planning to release iPad mini turn out to be true then it is wise to assume that Apple is feeling threaten by the low-cost tablet Amazon Kindle Fire. The Amazon tablet is considerably cheaper than the iPad which can be seen as a threat to the dominance of Apple on the market for tablets.
