After the myth about Mac being immune to viruses has been shattered and 2% of the Mac owners have their computers infected with the Flashback malware, the developer has posted an anti-virus tool.
The tool that hunts down the plague is relatively small – only 38KB to download. The tool deals with the malware by automating a specific process, requiring multiple commands in Terminal, the Mac OS X command line utility. Another method compares the UUID (universally unique identifiers) of a machine to the list of UUIDs of infected Macs it compiled after commandeering a hacker command-and-control (C&C) server. There are also commercial security software options.
