Microsoft plans to acquire at least half of the Canadian IT company Research in Motion (RIM) which is responsible for the creation of one of the most popular cell phone devices – the BlackBerry. The rumours that Microsoft is considering the possibility of purchasing RIM shouldn’t come as a big surprise, especially since there were rumours that Microsoft and Nokia both, in partnership, intended to buy the canadian company back in 2011.
