According to the Japanesse newspaper Nikkei, one of the biggest phone manufacturer in Japan – Panasonic plans to outsource its phone manufacturing facilities outside of the country. Currently, half of all Panasonic phone are produced in Japan. After the numerous reports of inhumane treatment of workers and appalling working conditions in the Foxconn factories, the Fair Labor Association(FLA) conducted its own investigation and compiled a report of the most serious issues in the Foxconn production facilities. The investigation uncovered a large list of violations regarding overtime hours of work, lack of appropriate overtime compensations for the employees, health and safety risks and issues.
