Opera for Facebook
Opera is one of the players in market which is rapidly changing at the moment. The Norwegian company has $50 million profit for the Q1 and was recently estimated $670 million in worth. That is why several big corporations have interests in buying it. According to some articles on the Internet Yandex, Google and Facebook want to buy Opera at the moment. Samsung Galaxy III will be released in Europe in 29th of May, according to Reuters. It is expected that the third-generation smartphone will be even more successful than its predecessors. The usage share of the new iPad has become equal to the old one for two months. That was the time that the new device needed to catch up with the original. The popular mobile VoIP software application FriendCaller now has 8 million users. This monumental occasion in the history of the app happens only 2 months after the FriendCaller app got its 7th million user in the end of march. Since its introduction in 2010 the FriendCaller app gathered huge fanbase among smartphone users and for a period of just 2 years the people using this mobile VoIP app, from 1 million in the summer of 2010, are 8 million at the end of May 2012. BBC is going to release an app for Windows Phone for their iPlayer service. This internet service provides users with access to the content of the television and radio programmes of the British Broadcasting Channel. The BBC iPlayer app for Windows Phone is just few weeks away from its official release. A new report about the status of the smartphone market in the past quarter showed something that was already well-known. The mobile operating system Android is the leader among the smartphone OS with 59% of the market share. The results showed that there are more smartphones shipped running under Android in the first quarter of this year compared to the same quarter of the previous year when Android was still leader but had only 39% of the market share.
