The Nomura Equity Research company conducted a research about smartphones components which helped determine which is the most expensive part of a smartphone. According to the results that the research showed, contrary to the popular believe the display of the smartphone is not at all the most expensive part used in such devices. It turned out that the flash memory that most smartphones are equipped with is the most expensive thing about them. The experts from Nomura concluded that the manufacturing price for the flash memory varies between $ 20-22, while the manufacturing price for a smartphone display is somewhere between $ 15-20.
